altered books

That's Sasha, our teacher, and Kay, another student. I was the youngest person there by at least a decade. Le sigh.

I iz making da bookz!

I took a sweet class at the Urban Craft Center a weekend or two ago, and it was awesome. I'm using the book as a sketchbook/altered book now, so I'll post pictures of it soon. I altered A Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius by Dave Eggers. It's a super weird book, but it seemed perfect for the project.

P.S. My craft show is tomorrow, so come visit me, plzkthnx!

Vacation Mode

Alas, I am NOT on vacation, but I've set my store to vacation mode to prepare for another craft show this Saturday in Laguna Niguel. One of vendors dropped out, so Nina asked me to fill in their space. I'll be in booth 9, and possibly allllll alone so you should definitely come out and visit me if you can.

The store will be back up Monday, after I sort through show sales. :D

And he's come to save the day!

Kevin animated a bunch of "drowning" in the sea of money in our new He's Barack Obama video! You can check out the full video online here!

You can also check out the two "comic page" posters I made for our Barack Obama store!

old reliable

Some plushies I've recently made, soon to be up in the store.

In a separate, but equally awesome note, I've begun reading Neither Here Nor There by Bill Bryson. If by some slim chance you haven't read him, I highly suggest any of his books. If you like to travel, but don't have the time, or enjoy reading about the stupid things people say and do, his books are magical. Neither Here Nor There is about his travels in Europe. In a Sunburned Country is equally amazing- it's set in Australia, a place most of us will never ever go. I read it two summers ago whilst abroad in Switzerland. Surprisingly, it reminded me of home. Perhaps because stupid people are global.

huge massive so big it'll make you cry

Oh hai.

Sooooo... I've been turbo busy, and also turbo away from my sweet Mac to update anything and everything, including this blog AND my etsy store, so apologies. I'm currently updating the store with some food plush, and some monsters will go up soon, and maybe even a monkey or panda. Who knows, I'm just so wild and unpredictable these days. But here we go, anyway!

Here's some sweet JibJab Father's Day content I created recently. It took varies degrees of time/talent to make them. Woot.

In other news, I was mentioned in Perspectives magazine- whoo hoo. (Ringling is proud of me for snagging a job?) Also, my super cool friend Lindsay has an article about her/her art which is a good read with great visuals. Shawn Barber, Francis, Haylee, and Trey also have pretty sweet articles in there. And the re-design is pretty classy, go Ringling. Bah, it's so late, and I'm babbling. More soon, though! Promise.

P.S. I updated my etsy, like I was saying, and you can find it here: Store!

terrible yellow eyes / updates..?

This is something so cool, I could spend all morning looking at the pieces:

If you're excited about the upcoming movie, then here's a sweet fix. As an added bonus, a few of my friends have pieces on there- look out for Sarah Caterisano, Erin McGuire, Adam Volker, and Eric Bonhomme! If I'm not mistaken, you may find their blogs in my links sections, as well. Hoo-ha! They are all crazy amounts of talented.

Anyway, I was GOING to update with some photos from the show last Saturday, but my printer isn't reading my card. :( So here's some photos of other stuff.

Yeah, it's dinosaurs. Alas. Photos from the show soon, I promise.

EDIT: Here's those photos I was yammering about. More on my FB, if you're mah friend there. Considering the clouds-rain-heat-intense sun that happened (in that order) we did pretty alright. I'll be posting some of the plushies that were not adopted on my etsy in the coming days.

Some fruits, a pic I'm rather fond of taken at Vista Point near Palm Springs, and a reminder to come see me at the Handmade Brigade this Saturday! 10Am-4PM! Cerritos, CA! I can promise lots of fun, lots of sunshine, and lots of plush!

We also have these. If there's any left, I'll put a set or two up in the store!:
