old finds

I was working on my portfolio, and I found this. It's a matrix poster for a magnifying glass, and probably one of two cool things I actually got out of Matt Normand's class last year. I'm currently re-working my final icon poster to see if I can use it for my portfolio. Le sigh...

I applied for my passport today. It wasn't as much hassle as people make it out to be, and now I feel this-much-closer to Switzerland. It's a good feeling.

chicken of the sea

I've finished up a lot of class work, projects, etc. and so the stress has peeked, and it now back to where it belongs, my closet. ArtVenture was a success. I got some commissions for plushies, which I am working on, and the pins were a big hit with young and old alike. I sold all but two of my magnets, which makes me giddy, because I love that my goofy art is polluting some rich suburban households in greater Sarasota.

Some scans from 'Fruits', the dummy-book collab (perfect bound) I have going with Ben. Hopefully this can stop Ringling from giving me guff about drawing and being GIC. If Jay Ryan can draw funny things and call himself a designer, so can I. :P

I also found out that Ben took karate until he was 16, and likes tuna (which I can't eat because it smells funny). Turns out you can live with someone 24/7 and still find stuff out about them. And now you know stuff about them, too. CREEPY.

Tomorrow I'll have some images from my artists books class, because my scanner isn't badass enough (i.e. big enough) to handle them at the moment. Hope you enjoy.

buttons!!

These are some of the buttons we're selling Saturday at ArtVenture. There are Ringling school pins, some text based ones, and a really cool Aztec-ish design by Ben that comes in multiple colors. Come check our booth out, it's got the goods. (Special thanks to Watts for the button abilities.)

oh so fresh

2/5 of my new site, which is on how bowling pin resetters work. I'm extremely busy with ArtVenture coming up this weekend, and helping/attending MegaCon last weekend. I need sleep and food and time to just sit around and do nothing.

p.s. I'm selling plushies (bunnies and monsters), among other weird things, and I'm with two hip ladies, Ms. Erin and Ms. S. Watts, so come check us out this Saturday. We're cool and stuff.

confounded redux

Some older sketches, two painted in photoshop. (I like retarded bunnies?)

she heard a hallow sound

Some more digital paintings of recent sketchbook pages- one scene with my weirdo people and the other is a self portrait. I'm learning to work with more muted color palettes. I am so tired all the time now-a-days.

final website

After many long three hour critiques... here's a link to my final design for my packaging website:

http://webspace.ringling.edu/~ttatman/package/index.html

Overall, I'm quite happy with it. Jeff said we will be able to go back into them later on in the semester and add what we wanted- additional rollovers, etc. There were some extras I wanted to do, but couldn't get to work.

On another note, I will post some more digital paintings soon. They have become very relaxing to me. Oh, and pictures of my book turned 3-dimensional sculpture up soon, too!

digital painting

Ben taught me how to paint over my line art in photoshop, so here's some of my first pieces. I am a big fan of Dr. Suess color schemes, apparently.
