deep sea exploring
A new plush I finished last week and just got around to posting- Deep Sea Diver Dave & Norbert! He'll [probably] be the last plushie I add to the store before my vacation- Yes, you heard right, I leave for Indiana in the AM tomorrow! I'll post some pictures of interesting things upon my return.
Hope you guys have an awesome weekend, and I will see you in a week!
And to Ringlingers: JibJab is coming to Ringling April 1st, so make sure you get your portfolios ready! Storyboards, layout, awesome drawings... And it'd be nice to see some Floridian blood around the office, no?

pop gun shooter
Before moving across the great US of A this last summer, I cleaned out our old house a bit. Found tons of pictures, but the only ones that caught my eye were the "funny shaped ones" and the old polaroids. When I first saw this one, I thought it was my mom, but after closer inspection and Justin's keen knowledge of 50's atomic lady-fashion, it turns out it's actually my maternal grandmother. Geez louise did they look alike, though!
I've never met her, she died when my mom was just in college, but this picture makes me think she must have been a pretty happenin' lady, at least in her younger years.
Anyhow, next week I go on vacation (finally) for a whole glorious week in beautiful (and freezing) Indiana. I'll post my latest creations before then, though, I promise.

rabbitz, wurd
Easter is coming. Hey-oh!
Note: Do not adjust your monitor, the color really is that bright, and the picture is purposefully blurred.
EDIT, ZOMG: For real arts, kindly check out the JJ Production Blog, some sketches I did for Easter chicks made it: Baby chicks!

holy snap- you's got a camera on dat fone!
Went sailing this weekend in San Diego, and we saw some of my most favorite of legless creatures, a big old group of seals basking in the sun on a buoy. Being the nerd that I am, I climbed up to the bough of the boat and started barking at them- AND THEY BARKED BACK! I am now officially one of them! Don't you just want to hug the crap out of them? Oh yeah, and we also saw a gray whale, but I didn't get a picture.
And these are some brownies I baked tonight for St. Patty's Day tomorrow. I will (most likely) completely forget to wear green, and someone will inevitably pinch me. And it will hurt, because I'm a wimp. So I baked these so at least they'll feel bad for pinching me, because I had one, and they are delicious.
So I know this is kind of a wackadoodle post, but whatevs. It'll do until I can get some for-serious pics of my new plush work- which includes a very large, very cute puppy, and a deep sea diver.
Oh, and one of my customers left feedback on my etsy today that just made me smile like a lunatic: "This is so awesome!" Hooray!

Ozwald Unveiled!
The Great Ozwald! A new plush I just finished last week. He's about 10 inches tall, and 6 inches wide. He will love you forever and ever.
And what might possibly be the coolest part: A sketch of Ozwald, by my most fabulous illustrator friend Justin Parpan. There's a few other monsters in the works, among other things like whales and squids and a skull band trio, so keep your eyes peeled for awesomeness.
P.S. This is that big-ish post I was babbling about last week.

liberty falls
First off, I love my cat. He's the first pet I've ever owned myself, and he's snuggly and cute, despite being a cat. He's front-declawed, but that doesn't stop him from scratching everything (What drives him to do this? Phantom toenail pain? Who knows?) He particularly likes to claw at these old record crates I have set up as a wacky bookshelf-type-thinger. I keep a lot of collectibles on it. Mostly from trips I've taken.
This is the Statue of Liberty mini statuette I got when I was in New York City. I was 17. It was a school trip. I hated it. I hate the city. I think it's dirty and everyone there is totally rude. You know the way some people hate LA? I hate NYC, like that.
But anyway, this was on that bookshelf. And I'm eating my cereal, om nom nom nom, and I hear a weird crack-crunch combo sound. I find the headless Liberty on the ground. I see my cat running away to hide in his cathouse.
I cannot find the head.
5 minutes later, when I've given up (it's just a head, afterall) and sit down to finish my breakfast, I find the head. With my foot.
And that's your {WTF Tuesday} story for the day. Now I need to go ice my foot before work.
