fun on the fridge

For some reason, the pictures of my site won't load, so I'm gonna update those later. For now, some recent work.

A font I made out of little creatures! My roommate had the awesome idea of making them into fridge magnets, so that's what I decided to go with in the end. (I threw around ideas of a board game, a card game, and little collectible figures before she suggested magnets. Brilliant!)

I've also finished a TON of plushies since my last plush post, so I'll be sure to take a group shot before I put the whole lot up for sale at this weekend's Megacon. I'm sharing a booth with Watts, so you guys best come check out all our sweet swag. :) See you there!

hairy bits

Some pages from my sketchbook. The first is some packaging ideas for an alphabet font/magnet set I made, the other two are drawings I did when I was on this kick where I drew everything with hair.

and the whistles go...

Whoo hoo! So, here's some new photos of some new plushies! (New new new!) The blue girl I just finished last night, the others have been made in the last 2 weeks or so. (Don't ask me where I find the time, because I do not know.) Hope you enjoy!

Cupcake ladies, with a heart on the inside!

Carrot man and broccoli guy!

new portfolio site

trishtatman.com is officially up, and my junior year portfolio site is no more! Hooray! Special thanks to Ben, otherwise this site would not be in CSS. <3<3<3

p.s. check out the contact page, one of my creatures is lurking there. :D

edit: My site is viewed best in Safari- if you are using Firefox, for some reason it scales my work too big (hence the scroll bars) and the creature on my contact page is just... not there. We're trying to figure out what's up with it. It also puts heavy black bars around the thumbnails, I have no idea why. Firefox sucks. :(

free lunch today

This is an icon-ish thing I made for the GIC Portfolio Night postcard. Our instructor suggested we not overthink it, so I just did the first thing that came to me- after broccoli people, of course. And a rain cloud. And a monster.

Okay, so maybe I thought about it for a bit.

*American Greetings next week! OMG!

business card!

Here they are! Front, and back. My portfolio teacher is going to hate them because they aren't from 1879, but whatever. I love them, and they represent me to a t. A capital T, even.

Joyas Voladoras Poster Final

My final for the Joyas Voladoras poster project. We went through another round of concepts, and then I based this off one of those (that didn't really look anything like this, except that it had circles. Ha.) It's a printed poster, 2 colors, at 24x30 inches.

elephant graveyard

Three poster concept roughs I did for the first round of Jeff's "Joyas Voladoras" poster project. I sorta heart them (a lot) so I decided to throw them down here since I can't really salvage them for the next round of stuff since we got 3 more essays added and a whole lotta text, etc. Oh well. My blog is where good projects go to die, I guess.

i'm thinking... cupcakes

Piece I did when Sarah Caterisano told me about the 'i spy cupcake' group art show down at digital three. I don't even know if I'm allowed in as a graphic designer, might be crashing an illustrator party or something, but here it is all the same.

Also, American Greetings is here the 5th of February, and the CIA is here on the 15th of February. [OMG.] I need to make my 13x19 portfolio... like, yesterday, so I'm feeling the tiniest bit behind on things even though it's only day 2 of the semester (especially since the other class of seniors already have theirs done for an in-class assignment LAST semester. Grr.)

Oh yes, and I started at the Design Center as of today. It's awesome, there's a dishwasher and a fridge, and the conference table will soon be a ping-pong table (I don't play, but some of the boys there are enthusiasts of the game, so that should be entertaining.) Watts is in there as "The Illustrator", too, so that's cool. Tomorrow we get our project(s) for the semester in there, either stuff for Ringling or a identity/brochure for Selby Garden's... it's nice all my classes are like "here's your project, GO DESIGN" instead of just sitting around talking about the syllabus.
