GOLD!
Remember this? From 9 months ago? That thing I worked on for an entire semester and lost part of my thumb to an x-acto for?
...Of course you do!

Other than that piece-of-awesome-news, a handful of my friends also won Gold and Silver ADDY's for their work, or contributed as illustrators to pieces that won. It's really amazing, and I'm super proud of everyone. It's good to see our tears were worth it.
I also have some side projects [and things that will cause me to spread myself too thin] in the coming months going on, but more about those when they're more developed. For now, I shall bask in the happiness that follows my ADDY news. Ahhhhhhhhhh.

4 x the awesome
A quick 2 hour color I threw onto a previous sketchbook page. Sometimes it's good to get on the computer... outside work, anyway. Oh, and I added the JibJab blog to my "other places to stop" link list- I'm in some photos, plus there's nice shots of where I work, if you're curious. Our office looks like a pirate ship. :D

the living desert
So, I missed my second post last week because I got sucked into the 3-day weekend. My apologies. But, hopefully these make up for it.
We went to Palm Springs for Valentine's Day weekend, and ended up at this outdoor zoo called The Living Desert. It's really awesome and I took a ton of photos. We ended up naming most of the birds, the owl pictured is named Skinny Johnny, and he has a girlfriend named Beatrix. There were some other ones... Phillip, Ethan Frome... I think one was named Poop... It was a lovely time.
There was also a petting zoo part- and we met some very interesting farm animals. This is a devil goat, and a very frisky sheep. More photos to come on my facebook. (And I think I'm contemplating a flickr? I don't know if I take enough photos to warrant having one, though...)

sky and sea
A cute new keychain for the store- based off an icon set I made earlier in the week. There's ninjas, top hatted gentlemen, and bears with mustaches... perhaps I'm too busy for my own good, I think?
Those fish commissions I was talking about awhile ago- two white Goldfish, and two yellow Pufferfish. I finally got them done a few days ago, and surprised Dave (a co-worker at JJ) with them at our monthly show & tell. They're pretty big- sorry for both the blurriness of the photos, I was in a hurry, and the mess that is my back room/studio.
Oh, and there's more to come next week.
