yeah, i like birds and stuffffff

So, I have been making new things lately, like some crazy New-Thing-Maker of sorts, and I thought I would share. Some birdy brooches, a new horse/zebra girl, and... ZOMG IS THAT A NOTE CARD SET?!?! Yes, yes I am branching out to paper goods. (The section is small, but it's fierce.) I'm working on a new commission of cheapsters birds, and I also might have another show July 10th... then there's Comic-Con with Justin, and Tiki Oasis. WHOA. Busy busy.

But for now, here's the stuff!

I also made this for Jordie. You may not know her, but if you do, you know she's rad, and has an even radder (the raddiest?) blog, possibly ever, and especially if you like movies and monsters and cool things of that nature. (Who doesn't?)

big ole week

Big week, I got featured on Drawn! on Monday, and just yesterday Shannon over at Rainbow Fabrics featured my plush owls (3rd store down!)

I'll also have some work in the new Ringling Made-By store, run by Nancy O'Neil. I believe it opens next month, so if you're in that neck of the woods, look out for some of my older work, and some new keychains I'm sending along soon.

This guy, name of Bosco, is also up in the store as of today!

baby owl giveaway!

EDIT: Mare MacIntosh won, so congrats! I'll hold another giveaway next month, so keep your eyes pealed for it!

Howdy! In the awesome spirit of, um, early September, I'm running a giveaway this week for this little guy! All you have to do is leave a comment with your name and email and it'll be entered into a random drawing.

On Friday at noon, I'll pick a winner (I'm going assign each comment a number, and use a random number generator) and announce it THIS Friday at noon-thirty (both here, and on my twitter.) Then I'll contact the winner and send them this cute little owl!

In the spirit of fairness, one comment per person, plzkthnx.

Look at that cute little face! Doesn't it just say "Win Me!" ?

gratuitious man boob-age

So, Halloween is just around the corner (not really, but shut up) and I'm going to dress my cat, Oliver, and myself, as Ewoks. So I did this little piece to just give you a small taste of my vision. BEHOLD!

Also, More to Love is starting to wrap up, and let me just say, I'm glad Anna is gone. Basically because I cannot stop making fun of her face. And when she says OH MY GOD, she sounds like what I imagine a harpy would. The rest of the girls are equal parts boring and pathetic, so I don't really care who wins. That's Tali below, sharing the frame with Luke and his super boobs.

Also, so this post isn't a total waste, here's some new owls, and a tiki named Big Tom, which is up in the store.

super owly mania + More to Love

All three of these super plushie pals are up in the store, so check 'em out! First is Pug, then Bim, and then the fabulous Pumpkin!

Also, is anyone watching More to Love? Because it's awesome in it's complete horrible-ness! I know that's mean, but whatever. Some of these girls are turbo pathetic, and it has nothing to do with their weight. Also, she's a model. Right.

felt like lurve

One of Justin's toys- I got my new camera, so I was practicing taking pictures. It's a sea monster hopper guy!

Dino par-tay. I'm trying to get that depth of field bizness going.

Cool spider we saw outside Justin's apartment complex. He was very hard to shoot, as the camera wanted to autofocus on the plant behind him.

This is Bilius Ballsworth Ballington- my first needle-felted friend. He's a cardinal- I got a kit on needle-felting from fancytiger on Etsy.

This is old, but not old-old. It's a plush I made for a co-worker of her husband (who is also a co-worker). I haven't made a ton of dolls, and my first try at him turned out something close to HORRIBLE, so I completely restarted, and decided to stylize him more. Realistic dolls, in my opinion, just end up in that uncanny valley realm where it's just creep-tastic. So yeah.

More pictures soon, and expect some fabric owls up in the store today/tonight!

FABRIC OWLS = awesome

Taken with photobooth at work, because my sweet sweet Canon Rebel XS hasn't arrived yet.

New owl plushies, with fabric backs, made with love (and my sewing machine!) Expect them in the store mid-next week or so!

More updates, soon. Promiiiise.

sky and sea

A cute new keychain for the store- based off an icon set I made earlier in the week. There's ninjas, top hatted gentlemen, and bears with mustaches... perhaps I'm too busy for my own good, I think?

Those fish commissions I was talking about awhile ago- two white Goldfish, and two yellow Pufferfish. I finally got them done a few days ago, and surprised Dave (a co-worker at JJ) with them at our monthly show & tell. They're pretty big- sorry for both the blurriness of the photos, I was in a hurry, and the mess that is my back room/studio.

Oh, and there's more to come next week.

december-ish

So, it's nearly the end of the year. Where in the world did the time go? I've been at JJ now, for like, 4 or 5 months, and time just rolls by like you wouldn't believe. Anyhoooo. Life is great, I'm making plushies, and even better, people like them oodles, so yeah. Good times. Here's some new(ish) work:

In other news, I got a sweet holiday card in the making, and tomorrow is my last collage class, so I'll post that stuff soon too. And I definitely owe at least two of you letters (and I believe some of you owe me letters, a-HEM!) so expect those in the mail!

plllllusssshhhh

Finally got the camera jury-rigged enough to update mah Etsy account. Woot. I feel all accomplished and such. The LOLcats are for fun, and Obama. Go OBAMA! *Note- the photos are not mine, I founds dem on the internets. Credits to the LOLcats community of awesome people. (Although, the white cat looks JUST LIKE Oliver.)

Just curious if anybody caught this total train-wreck online the actual televisions. Eeesh. McCain should have gone with Darth Vader for Vice President, now HE has some foreign experience!

hemmin' and hawin'?

new plushies, gawd, geez, finally

So I've got some sweet new stuffs I've been procrastinating on lately... slowly but surely getting my Etsy back on track. Cute animals, and halloweenie stuff. Who doesn't love a shrunken head voodoo keychain? So far I've made this one, and a blue balding one for my monster-creating co-worker Justin.

On a sad note, Ben left for Ring-a-ling-a-ling this morning. Bummer for me, but turns out there are like A-KA-TRILLION video games companies out in this neck of the woods, so at least we know he'll be back. Plus, one more snail mail penpal, woot.

I also [might] be updating the look of the ole blogger this weekend, since I've caught up on sleep and my severe lack of donuts this past week. (In case you didn't know, I'm actually this freaky-cool steam-punk human-bot that runs on donuts and 10 hours of sleep a night [and hyphens, apparently.]) Expect great things!
