but only one can win!

Our sweet pirate pad at work, with the addition of the pirate flag I made last Friday. All handsewn, and lemme tell you, this thing is M-A-S-S-I-V-E! Much longer than I am tall (which isn't saying much) but the skulls are like, 3 feet big and stuff, not including the lower jaw. It's huge. But it was super fun to make. I work with the coolest people in the world.

The other photo is of a few of our piratey crew- one of our animators and our technical director. Good times.

Thanks to Dan for hanging the crazy thing and getting stuff all in his face from the ceiling doing it. Yuck.

He always took the time to speak with me

...And I liked him for that.

Something I started/finished working on today. Originally it was for Illustration Fridays topic "Late" but other than that clock... I don't know how it relates. I haven't had time to draw in my sketchbook much lately, but this weekend has been an exception. I want to finish it by Christmas-ish time, so I best start cracking. I also picked up American Gods and Coraline from the bookstore. It's about time I started reading again.

It's about time I started doing a lot of things again.

the skeletons are hidden in the closet

Just some of the postables I made for Halloween at JJ. Felt, twins, George Washington... these are a few of my favorite things. Now that I'm looking at it, we really rolled out a ton of content for Halloween! Hope you like it!

some monstaaaaarz

Welcome to the Space Jam.

I've been experimenting in trying to find a style of plushie I like to make, and I think this might be it. They're fun, even though they take a little longer to make and cut. They feel more cohesive than just makin' any ole thing.

You also just got a sweet sneak peek at my new shoes. They look like penny loafers. It's good times.

he's got stars in his eyes

I really don't have time to update with anything significant, so here's this. It's amazing. I wish I had the time/energy/madness to make something like this.

Also, expect lots of plush business soonish. A super awesome lady from the UK bought like half my store this morning (for christmas presents I am assuming), so I have to re-stock like mad. I wish I had a little sweat shop of children working for me... for cookies. Oh well. WE CAN ALWAYS DREAM.

P.S. I love the fact that my plushies live all over the world now. It's a warm fuzzy feeling on the inside.

"i'm a sincere person..."

Note: Anytime you need to remind someone you are a sincere person, you aren't. Gagggg, Top Design is such a garbage show.

Anyhoot, a zombie lady for the new month/season. The cool kids at work are finishing up our zombie video (which features me and some of my fantastic co-workers dancing the Macarena) so I was in a festive zombie mood tonight. Plus, I haven't sewn anything in a few days (burned out) and decided to draw something on the computer. But now I must retire for the night for fear I'll be a zombie at work tomorrow, so goodnight!

DINOSAURS, etc.

Some new stuff I've just finished working on plush-wise. There's also an orange dinosaur, minus the cute spots. I want to make like, fifty of these things- they're so f-ing cute! The only problem is they take like twice as long to make because I can't just eyeball the proportions like I usually do... bummer. I'm going to make some with stripes, and some with four legs (and one with both, possibly) soon, so be on the lookout if you're big on the dino-front.

ALSO, speaking of dinosaurs- watched the last two Jurassic Parks with some friends this weekend. You had to take a drink every time something stupid happened in the third movie, and let's just say I ran out of beer before we ran out of movie! I also drank my first beer! My cheeks get super red when I drink beer, I found. Damn this sweet Irish skin! So beautiful, so deadly... so... easy to blush!

P.S. We named the octopus Jimmy Eight Fingers, despite him only have five. Yay for counting.

waiting for you.

So the carnival never happened. We drove by, but Josh thought we'd look like pedophiles (did I mention the carnival was at a Catholic Church?), so we went to the bookstore instead. I got a book called "Vintage LA" so now I wanna go to all the cool places around town.

It's a fish. Duh. I've kind of had feeeesh on the brain lately, as I contemplate my Halloween costume.

Also, this is the most fantastic song/cover/video I've ever seen:

The Killers covering Joy Division's "Shadowplay", the video is interspersed with scenes from the biopic Control and the band looking all creepy and awesome. Fucking brilliant. I'm watching the movie sometime in the coming weeks.

my cat is really big

I wasn't exaggerating when I said my cat is fucking huge. He's the size of a small toddler.

In other news, I've been sewing some dinosaurs and widgets. (I will post them soon, as I am lazy with the photo-taking part of the process because it's impossible to get enough light indoors to take decent shots.) I might also haunt a Catholic Church's carnival tomorrow if it's still running (might not be, Sunday being a day-of-rest and all.) I want to take pictures in the early evening when the light is awesome.

entirely too much fun.

Try JibJab Sendables® eCards today!

As you may know, I totally dig some of our most precious past Presidents, and thought I'd share some sweet jibjabby love with them. Gonna have to contact tech about that whackness with Andrew Jackson/Zac Efron's head. :/
