ADDY award pictures

Ringling finally posted the ADDY award winners, so I thought I would link you guys to my piece(s), in case you missed it at last years graduation ceremony. I ended up winning a Gold local ADDY, and a Silver regional ADDY.

Anyway, if you're perusing the Ringling site, check it out.

Oh yeah, and because I'll (hopefully) be moving soonishly, I must link you to this, because it's one of the few things keeping me sane. It's so friggin' beautiful, I would die a happy death if I could live in a place half a cool as that.

cool news plus cool pics

This is a thumb card I made, which was originally supposed to be the title card. The one they actually use for the video is boring, and makes me sad, so just pretend it's this.

This is ripped from the JibJab blog, because I'm not sure what we can post and what we can't. But what I CAN tell you is that I'm Meg White's body (its not just in silhouette in the full video) and I appear to be eaten by Charles Nelson Reilly. Justin appears too- he gets shot at by lasers. The video is friggin' awesome, so when it drops, I'll let you know.

This is a business card I'm finishing up for my plush biz. I think it's pretty awesome (not to toot my own horn or anything, even though I just did.) The back is blank so I can draw funny things on it when I send it to people, or write important infos on it when I'm giving it to people who need such things. It's one of 3 things I've actually designed for myself in the past 3 months. (That's sad, considering my profession is listed as Designer, but whatev.)

I'm also working on some new plush designs, whoo hoo, and a badass bear pattern that will save us all from destruction. I also plan on updating this thing more often again, since I don't have Comic-Con as an excuse.

P.S. We did really awesome there, and had a killer time. If you can, you should totally hit it up next year. We can hang out, it would be rad.

Hey all! So I'll be at Comic-Con for the rest of this lovely week, joining my friends at the Goblin-Fish Press booth in the exhibitors section! If you're hitting up the Con, you should definitely stop by.

The boys of GFP have some FANTASTIC new products including buttons, 2 new beautiful postcard sets, 3 new monster prints from Justin, and a screen-print from Josh (with green sparkly metallic ink!) There's also many great prints, both old and new, books, puzzles, and magnets. Whew.

Also, I'll be there, in all my 5-foot-2-and-a-half-inch glory, so there really isn't anything holding you back, now is there? (There also might be a Bigfoot or two lurking around, so keep your eyes peeled! They're elusive!)

Hope to see you there! And if you have a booth, or want to meet up, leave a comment and I'll be sure to swing by!

familiar face in Harry Potter

One of the perks of working at JibJab is when you are loyal to a super nerdy fandom, our resident movie parody whiz, Dave, will add your head to it. Obviously, I have a great love for Harry Potter, so he actually designed our Harry Potter parody postable with my head in mind as the Lady Who Lived. He also adds a ton of sweet little details, so look closely!

A screenshot of the original postable before I added the ghost heads. That's Alex in the original.

Since I loved it so much, I actually took the time to ghost (what we call the process of blanking a face and adding the ? to it) my face and another former co-worker, Mike Rianda, and put us in the JibJab head system for postables. The fine fella in the back is another co-worker, Dan Milano.

oh hi there, bear

Been inspired to work on some new plush designs, and thus, some new products. To avoid getting bored, I've decided to develop some different things. This is a stationary test I worked on this weekend- might have it shaped up in time for craft shows later this year.

It's super simple right now, but any thoughts?

been a long time

Two postables I made for the Fourth of July holiday last weekend! My fireworks postable KILLED. It was most excellent.

This is an unreleased Forget Me Not I wrote. I was really getting into the ole fife & drum spirit.

Something my co-worker. Dave, found online. Hilarity.

In other news, Comic-Con is coming up swiftly (July 22nd-26th), and I'll be helping out Justin and Josh at their booth there. I haven't decided if I'll make a costume or not- I was contemplating Goldilocks from Fables, but time is so elusive these days. But it wouldn't take much work, and I do love a good homicidal blonde...

I've also come up with some new designs for plushies, for the store. Those'll be up after Comic-Con finishes up. My Etsy store has not fallen by the wayside for long!
